Tropica Plant Growth Substrate
Tropica Plant Growth Substrate is a substrate for aquarium plants. By applying a thin layer under a layer of aquarium gravel, aquarium plants have sufficient nutrients. The layer functions as a nutrient substrate over a long period of time nutrients can deliver.
The main constituents are natural clay and turf. These have the property to slow the nutrients down to the roots of aquarium plants, but hitting simultaneously nutrients from the aquarium water in the soil. Where it frequently goes wrong is that people are too thick a layer of soil in the aquarium application. A thin layer of 1cm is more than enough. With a too thick layer, there exists the chance on bad water circulation, which bodemrot can arise. This can be counteracted by using a heating apparatus and a gravel layer where a sufficient water circulation can take place.
