NT Labs Marine Lab KH (Alkalinity) Hardness Test Kit

NT Labs Marine Lab KH (Alkalinity) Test Kit for Reef Stability

The NT Labs Marine Lab KH Test Kit is a fundamental tool for any saltwater enthusiast aiming to maintain a professional-grade reef tank. By measuring the Carbonate Hardness (KH), you are essentially monitoring your water's ability to resist pH changes. Stability is the cornerstone of marine husbandry; without consistent alkalinity, fish and invertebrates can become stressed, and the biological balance of the tank can collapse.

For coral hobbyists, this kit is indispensable. Corals rely heavily on stable alkalinity to build their calcium-based skeletons. When KH levels drop too low, coral growth is inhibited, and the livestock becomes significantly more susceptible to disease and environmental stress. Using this titration-based kit ensures you have the precise data needed to dose your tank accurately and keep your reef thriving.

4. Observe the water sample closely for a distinct color change.
5. Stop adding drops immediately once the color change occurs and calculate your KH value based on the number of drops used.

Care & Maintenance Tips

• Store the test kit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve reagent potency.
• Ensure all vials are rinsed thoroughly with distilled or RO water between tests to avoid cross-contamination.
• Keep the reagent bottles tightly sealed when not in use to prevent evaporation or contamination.
• Test your alkalinity regularly, especially after adding new corals or performing large water changes.
• Always follow the provided instructions exactly to ensure the accuracy of the titration results.
