How to Use This Aquarium Water Pump

Placement: Decide whether to install the Jecod DEP 5000 Vario DC Water Pump as a submersible (wet) pump inside your sump or as an external (dry) pump connected via plumbing. Ensure all connections are secure and watertight.
Power Connection: Connect the pump to the provided 24V power supply. Before plugging into the main power outlet, ensure the pump is correctly positioned and, if submersible, fully submerged in water.
Initial Start-up: Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical socket. The pump should begin operating. Monitor for any unusual noises or leaks.
Bluetooth Pairing (Optional): For wireless control, download the dedicated Jecod app on your smartphone. Follow the app's instructions to pair with the pump via Bluetooth.
Flow Adjustment: Use either the included LCD display controller or the mobile app to adjust the flow rate to your desired output, up to 5,000 litres per hour. Start with a lower flow and gradually increase as needed.
Monitoring: Regularly check the pump's performance and ensure optimal water circulation in your aquarium. The built-in electronic detection system will help identify potential issues like blocked impellers.

Care & Maintenance Tips

Regular Cleaning: Periodically remove the pump from service (after disconnecting power) and clean the impeller chamber and surrounding components. Algae, detritus, and calcium buildup can reduce efficiency and lifespan.
Impeller Inspection: Inspect the ceramic shaft and impeller for any signs of wear, damage, or blockages. Remove any debris carefully to ensure smooth operation.
Housing Check: Clean the pump housing and suction inlet to ensure unimpeded water flow. The unique bottom suction funnel should also be kept clear.
Power Cord Integrity: Routinely check the power cord for any signs of damage, fraying, or wear. Never operate the pump with a damaged cord.
Avoid Dry Running: While the pump has dry running protection, it's always best practice to ensure the submersible pump is adequately submerged or, for external use, properly primed before powering on to prevent unnecessary stress on the motor.
Software Updates: If using the Bluetooth app, check for and install any available firmware or app updates to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.
