ADA IC041 Eleocharis Vivipara

ADA IC041 Eleocharis vivipara – Upright Grass-Like Aquatic Plant

Eleocharis vivipara, or grassy vivipara, forms erect, grass-like tufts that bring a natural, meadow-like texture to planted tanks. Its upright growth is perfect for creating midground accents or textured foreground clusters.

Plant Specifications

Care & Aquascaping Tips

• Performs best under medium to bright lighting for compact, upright growth.
• CO₂ supplementation enhances density and vigor, though moderate growth is achievable without.
• Thrives in nutrient-rich substrate—liquid fertiliser isn't essential but helpful.
• Stable water: 20–26 °C, pH 6–7.5; moderate current gives natural motion.
• Trim tips as they overgrow to maintain uniform height and allow new shoots to emerge.

Planting & Propagation Recommendations

• Separate into small tufts (~5–10 stems) and plant ~2 cm apart using tweezers.
• Firmly press into substrate for strong anchoring—dense blooms will form.
• Trim older shoots at the base to encourage fresh growth and prevent thinning.
• Combine with carpeting foregrounds or tall background stems to create layered aquascape depth.
