Care & Maintenance Tips
- Inert Nature: Emerald Sand is an inert substrate, meaning it will not break down or react with dissolved CO2, thus requiring minimal specialized chemical maintenance.
- Water Chemistry Stability: Due to its pH-neutral and non-water-altering properties, you do not need to monitor for pH or hardness changes caused by the substrate itself.
- Cleaning: During routine tank maintenance, gently gravel vacuum the sand surface to remove detritus, being careful not to disturb the substrate too vigorously.
- Mixing for Plants: If you desire to provide nutrients for rooted plants, consider mixing Emerald Sand with a dedicated nutrient substrate like WIO Powervol Base underneath.
- Longevity: This durable sand maintains its aesthetic and structural integrity over time, providing a lasting foundation for your aquascape.
