How to Use This Filter Sponge

Choose the correct sponge size (ONE, M, L, XL) matching your JUWEL aquarium and filter model.
Insert the sponge into the appropriate slot in the Bioflow filter according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Allow beneficial bacteria to colonize over time; avoid replacing all media at once.
When cleaning, rinse in aquarium water (not tap water) to preserve bacterial colonies.

Care & Maintenance Tips

Do not rinse sponge under tap water; use dechlorinated tank water instead.
Replace sponge every few months to maintain optimal performance.
Stagger replacements if you have multiple sponges, to preserve biofilm continuity.
Monitor water parameters (ammonia, nitrite) to ensure the filter is effective.
