JUN Platinum Soil Powder Black 1L is an adsorption-type aquarium soil made from 100% natural Japanese black soil. Its 2–3 mm granules create a dark substrate for planted aquariums and shrimp tanks, while the soil is designed to support soft, mildly acidic water conditions.
The substrate helps adsorb colour released by driftwood and phosphate associated with algae growth, supporting clear aquarium water. It is suitable for aquatic plants and bee shrimp. Add it directly to the aquarium without rinsing, then pour in water gently to reduce disturbance. As the soil can affect pH and hardness, monitor water parameters and acclimate livestock carefully.

Create a dark, natural-looking substrate for a planted aquarium with JUN Platinum Soil Powder. Made from 100% natural Japanese black soil, this adsorption-type substrate is designed to support soft, mildly acidic water conditions for aquatic plants and bee shrimp.
The soil is intended to adsorb colour released by driftwood and phosphate associated with algae growth, helping maintain clear-looking aquarium water. Its powder-grade granules measure approximately 2–3 mm. Install the soil without washing it, pour water carefully, and monitor aquarium parameters during setup and livestock acclimation.
Product type: Aquarium soil substrate

Spread the soil directly in the aquarium. Do not rinse it before use.
Arrange the substrate to suit your planned layout and planting areas.
Add water slowly and gently to minimise disturbance to the granules.
Run the aquarium’s filter during setup; some initial cloudiness may clear as the water circulates.
Test pH and hardness as the aquarium establishes, and make sure conditions suit the livestock you plan to keep.
Acclimate fish and shrimp gradually when introducing them to the aquarium.
Avoid vigorous rinsing or stirring, which can break down the soil granules and cloud the water.
Pour water gently during setup and water changes to limit substrate disturbance.
Monitor pH and hardness because the soil can influence water chemistry.
Use filtration during aquarium setup to help clear suspended particles.
Remove any foreign material that may occasionally occur in natural soil products.
Keep the bag away from children and store unused soil in a dry place.
