How to Use This Aquarium Plant Soil

Preparation: Ensure your aquarium tank is clean and empty. No rinsing of the Indica Aqua Soil is required before placement.
Adding Soil: Carefully add the Indica Aqua Soil to the bottom of your aquarium. For tanks up to 1 foot (approximately 30 cm), a 3-liter pack is generally sufficient to create an adequate substrate layer. Adjust quantity based on tank dimensions and desired substrate depth.
Aquascaping: Arrange the soil as desired for your aquascape layout. You can create slopes or terraces to add depth and visual interest.
Optional Plant Boost: For accelerated plant growth, consider incorporating "The Good Grow Series - START" (50ml bottle) as per its instructions during setup or initial planting.
Filling the Tank: Place a plate or plastic bag on top of the soil and slowly add water to avoid disturbing the substrate. Fill the tank gradually.
Planting: Once the tank is filled, carefully plant your aquatic flora. The soil's composition promotes easy root penetration and establishment.

Care & Maintenance Tips

Initial Cloudiness: It is normal for the water to appear slightly cloudy after initial setup. This will clear up naturally within a few hours to a day with proper filtration.
Water Changes: Perform regular partial water changes as part of routine aquarium maintenance. While the soil helps stabilize pH, consistent water quality is vital for plant and fish health.
Fertilization: Indica Aqua Soil provides a rich nutrient base. Supplemental liquid fertilizers can be used periodically, especially for demanding plants, to ensure a complete nutrient profile.
Substrate Cleaning: Avoid aggressively disturbing the substrate during cleaning to prevent nutrient release into the water column. Gentle gravel vacuuming above the soil layer is recommended, or simply let the plants' root systems anchor it.
Lifespan: The soil remains effective for 2 to 3 years. After this period, you may observe a decrease in nutrient availability, indicating it might be time to refresh or replace parts of the substrate, or rely more heavily on liquid fertilization.
Monitoring pH: While the soil stabilizes pH, it's always good practice to periodically monitor your aquarium's pH levels to ensure it remains in the desired 6.5-6.7 range.
