Care & Maintenance Tips

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity for your EHEIM LiBERTY 200 filter:

• Monitor the filter media regularly. Replace bio-cartridges when they appear visibly clogged or every few weeks to maintain optimal biological filtration.
• Consider using 3D-active carbon cartridges, especially after medical treatment or during the initial setup of your aquarium, to remove unwanted toxins. These should be replaced as directed or after 2-4 weeks of use, as carbon eventually becomes saturated.
• The filter's lid is ingeniously designed as a carrying tray, allowing you to transport used cartridges without spillage, simplifying the disposal process.
• For thorough cleaning, the pump impeller can be easily removed by using the inlet pipe with the red control knob. Clean any accumulated debris from the impeller and its housing to maintain efficient pump performance.
• Ensure the inlet pipe with the red control knob is securely clicked back into the filter after any maintenance or cleaning.
• Never operate the filter dry. Always ensure the pump is fully submerged in water before switching it on.
