Aquavascular Nitrate Test Kit – High Accuracy NO₃⁻ Testing for Freshwater Aquariums
The Aquavascular Nitrate Test Kit provides a dependable way to monitor nitrate concentration in freshwater aquariums. Nitrate is the end product of the nitrogen cycle and, if not controlled, can lead to algae outbreaks, plant health issues and long-term stress for fish and invertebrates. This kit uses a two-phase testing method, allowing the aquarist to distinguish between nitrite presence and true nitrate readings.
With clear colour results and simple application steps, this test kit is suitable for routine water testing in planted, shrimp and community tanks, helping maintain stable and healthy aquatic environments.

How to Use the Aquavascular Nitrate Test Kit
- Take 5 ml of aquarium water in the test vial.
- Add 5 drops of Solution NO3-1 and mix thoroughly.
- If the solution turns pink immediately → this indicates the presence of nitrite; the chart will show the nitrite level.
- If no pink colour appears, continue nitrate testing:
- Add another 5 drops of Solution NO3-1.
- Shake Solution NO3-2 vigorously for 1 minute before use.
- Add 10 drops of Solution NO3-2 to the vial.
- Mix well and wait for 5 minutes.
- Compare the colour with the chart to determine nitrate concentration.
Care & Maintenance Tips
- Test nitrate weekly, or more frequently in heavily stocked tanks.
- Perform partial water changes if nitrate levels rise above desired range.
- Reduce feeding if nitrate consistently rises too quickly.
- Use live plants to naturally absorb excess nitrate.
- Rinse vials thoroughly after each test to prevent reagent contamination.
- Store reagents in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
