200W Step-Down Converter (220 V → 110 V) – Safe Power for Imported Aquarium Gear
If you bring in equipment built for 110 V mains (for example from the US), you’ll need a reliable and safe way to run it off India’s 220–240 V supply. The 200W Step-Down Converter offers that solution. It accepts 220–240 V AC input and outputs a stable 110 V AC supply capable of supporting up to 200 W of load.
Perfectly suited for aquarium applications where you might have imported lights, pumps, timers or controllers that do not support 220 V. It’s CE certified and designed for low noise, making it suitable to hide alongside your cabinet gear without generating audible humming.
Specifications
- Product: 200W Step-Down Converter 220 V → 110 V
- Input Voltage: 220–240 V AC, 50 Hz
- Output Voltage: 110 V AC (for 110V equipment use)
- Max Load: 200 W continuous
- Certifications: CE-certified / noise-reduced design
- Applications: Suitable for small pumps, timers, lighting controllers, hobby gear imported from 110 V mains regions
Key Benefits
- Allows use of 110 V imports in India without risk of damage due to over-voltage.
- Compact and quiet – suitable for aquatics cabling setups behind tanks or in cabinets.
- 200 W rating covers many smaller aquarium components (pumps, timers, controllers) rather than large heaters or major appliances.
- Reduces your need to buy costly local replacements – take advantage of US gear.
How to Use
- Ensure your imported equipment is rated for 110 V and consumes less than 200 W.
- Connect the converter to your 220–240 V mains via proper socket with ground. !Important: use an earthed plug.
- Attach your 110 V equipment to the converter’s output socket and switch on the converter first, then your device.
- Monitor for any overheating – at full load the converter may get warm; ensure ventilation.
Care & Safety Tips
- Do not exceed the 200 W maximum load – over-loading can cause failure or damage your gear.
- Ensure good ventilation – though low noise, step-down transformers generate some heat under load.
- Avoid connecting high surge equipment (like motors or heaters) unless specified – they run a risk of high inrush current.
- Use a separate breaker or surge-protector – imported setups can still be vulnerable to mains spikes in India.
- Turn off and unplug both converter and device in a power cut or when doing maintenance to avoid accidental voltages.
